There’s been a whole lot of discussion lately about whether or not it’s possible for women to “have it all.” The media frenzy was triggered by this cover story in the July/August issue of The Atlantic. Reaction to the piece was so intense that the author, Princeton professor and former-state department official Anne-Marie Slaughter, said it actually led her to change the way she thinks about how women manage their work and family responsibilities.

Commenting on the debate, Reader’s Digest Executive Editor and working mom Barbara O’Dair wrote, “Sometimes having a job outside the home and a family is really difficult. Sometimes it’s also incredibly fun, and exciting, and fulfilling. But I never think I have it all; I don’t know anyone who does, or expects to, unless they themselves are in diapers.”

Now, for an upcoming story in the magazine, we want to hear from you, our readers, about your own experiences as working moms. So tell us: What is your daily routine like? What are the challenges you face? How do you “balance” your work life and your family life? What changes—at work, at home, in society—would make your life better? If you are a single mom, tell us what that’s like for you. If you are in the military, tell us about that.

Never mind “having it all.” By sharing your stories you can tell the world what it’s really like to “do it all.”
