At 150 pounds, Dasiey the pig is no pushover. When an escaped dog charged at her beloved owner Jordan, she gallantly rushed to his rescue.

Today, in 2007, Dasiey lives in Redmond, California, with new owner Kim Moneymaker, who adopted her after the Jones family had to relocate and couldn't take her along. Here, Dasiey (sporting a haircut) snags a treat. 'She's a fun girl,' says Moneymaker.

Dasiey's new home has plenty of space for her to roam and play -- not to mention swim. Just keep that water coming!

Feathery friends rule. Just ask J. W. Erb, whose feisty macaw, Sunshine, attacked and chased away a burglar.

Dogs are … a cat's best friend? When a fire broke out in the Gardner family home, their pup, Casey, went to work with the dedication of a firefighter, helping rescue their cat Cindy.

Eve Fertig coos at Shana, her savior. The dog dug an escape route in the forest where Fertig and her husband were stranded, and helped guide the couple safely back home.
