Postmark determines date of mail entry and on-line or phone in entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (ET) of the deadline date. Not responsible for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible, misdirected or postage due mail, hardware or software failures, lost, unavailable, failed or delayed computer transmissions or any error which may occur in the receipt/processing of entries. Not responsible for any damage to user’s system or from downloading any information necessary to participate in the sweepstakes. If you have previously entered this Sweepstakes, each entry returned will have a separate chance to win.
Sweepstakes sponsored by RD and open to legal residents of the United States, its territories and possessions. Employees and members of the immediate families of employees of RD, its affiliated or subsidiary companies, the presenting organizations, independent judging organization, and judging agents are not eligible. Entries are not transferable except to a surviving spouse residing in the same household. Reader’s Digest reserves the right to terminate or modify the sweepstakes or on-line portion if at any time the Reader’s Digest on-line service is no longer available or if any fraud, virus, bugs, or other intervention beyond Reader’s Digest’s control corrupts the administration or security of the promotion. In either of these events, prizes may be awarded based on entries received prior to date of termination and mail and phone entries received as of the closing date. Any dispute regarding submission of on-line entry will be deemed submitted by the e-mail account holder.
Winner is selected by a series of random drawings from all eligible entries received. Winner will be determined on or about 3/15/10. Prize drawing is conducted by an independent judging organization whose decisions are final on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes.
Consumer Disclosure/Award Rules: Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. Approximate numerical odds for the $115,000 All Cash Prizes (#920): 100 Sixth Prizes of $100 - 1 in 300,000; 20 Fifth Prizes of $1,000 - 1 in 1,500,000; 1 Fourth Prize of $5,000 - 1 in 30,000,000; 1 Third Prize of $10,000; 1 in 30,000,000; 1 Second Prize of $25,000 - 1 in 30,000,000; 1 First Prize of $45,000 - 1 in 30,000,000. Winner will have the choice of the cash or any merchandise offered in any creative presentation of this Sweepstakes. RD and the presenting organization reserve the right to substitute similar merchandise of equal or greater value in the event a particular merchandise prize is no longer available to RD.
Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use winner’s name, city and state of residence in advertising and promotional materials unless prohibited by law. Winners may also be requested to consent to the use of their signatures, photographs and likeness in advertising and promotional materials unless prohibited by law. All taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Winner will be notified by mail within 30 days of the drawing and may be required to execute a Statement of Eligibility and Release and Payment Authorization within 30 days of prize notification attempt or prize may be awarded to an alternate winner. Prize won by a person under the age of 18 will be awarded to the winner’s parent or legal guardian. No transfer or assignment of prizes permitted. Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the USA. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited. Any prize/prize notification returned as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
