Brownie Thins

Dark, luscious brownies, flecked with walnuts, are a treat few people can resist.

Serve these brownies hot or cold. Their strong chocolate flavor makes them a favorite with adults and children alike.

Cooking Time: 18 minutes
Preparation Time: 15 minutes

You Will Need
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup cocoa
Pinch salt
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1/3 cup self-rising flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons coarsely chopped walnuts

What to Do
1. Heat oven to 350° F. Line a 12 x 8 x 1-inch baking pan with parchment paper; set aside.

2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.

3. Sift cocoa into melted butter, add salt and sugar; whisk until blended. Add eggs and whisk until smooth.

4. Sift flour over cocoa mixture; fold in. Add vanilla and walnuts; stir in gently.

5. Pour brownie mixture into prepared pan. Bake 18 minutes, or just until set but still soft (it will firm up as it cools).

6. Cool in pan on wire rack 5 minutes. While still warm, turn baked brownie mixture out onto a large cutting board and cut into 24 squares.

Serves: 24
