Step: Take your child to an area museum to explore art in your community. Talk about your experience at the museum and encourage your children to express their artistic sides. They’ll share it with their friends at school.
Stretch: Encourage your PTA and other parents to donate paint, clay, brushes, papers and pencils to your school’s art room. You’ll be amazed at what the children in your school can create with the right tools.
Leap: Start a K-12 art show in your community. Use themes that relate to your community such as “Landscapes in Lansing” or “Water in Walhalla.” The possibilities are endless!
