What You're Really Swallowing
In most restaurants, after 8 p.m. or so, all the coffee is decaf because no one wants to clean two different coffeepots. I’ll bring out a tray with 12 coffees on it and give some to the customers who ordered regular, others to the ones who ordered decaf. But they're all decaf.

re:comment from rb 03/12/10 you obviously have never worked in the hospitality business. bartenders and servers only make min wage. that means more or less than 5.00 per hr. we rely on our tips to make a living try it some time. govt rules on hourly wage. we make at the least 4.35 per hour. so think again about how you treat your server and how many times she refills your drinks. and tip accordingly

Wes, Waiters are one of a number of professions that are exempt from minimum wage laws. I am not sure why, but I think it has something to do with the expectation of tips.

Pooling tips is socialistic. How stupid to remove incentive for good servers and to reward the sandbaggers! Let each EARN his tip, his reward for EXCELLENCE. Stop rewarding mediocrity and entitlement thinking!

"My Fanily owned four (4) restaurant's and "we" knew who paid "our bills!" I was busboy, dishwasher, prep-cook, sous chef, and WAITER! Too many servers have bad attitude! T.I.P.P. is "To Insure Personalable Professional service!" QUIT winning/crying, DO YOUR JOB RIGHT!"
