A lot of people would never have done what they did
"Get out!" the scary-looking man yelled at DeeDee Neilson, who was enjoying a quiet lunch in her car. When she refused, the man grabbed her by the hair and neck, hurling her onto the pavement. She screamed loud enough for two co-workers on the loading dock next door to hear. Joe Iskandar and Rey Bantug came running. They pulled the man out of the car, immobilizing him in a wrestling hold. Two colleagues from another building tended to Neilson, who had a golf-ball-size bump above her eye.

Later they learned that the assailant was a convicted rapist and suspected serial killer. Given his brutal pattern, Neilson considers herself lucky, thanks to these good Samaritans. "A lot of people would never have done what they did," she says.
