TRY COUNSELING
Neighbor-Works Training Institute offers a range of courses in foreclosure intervention counseling—from two-day seminars to a six-month certificate program. Many are open to nonprofessionals (nw.org).
If you're facing foreclosure, the following organizations can refer you to HUD-approved nonprofit agencies that will work with you free or at little cost. They can negotiate on your behalf with a lender; explain your rights, responsibilities, and options; and set up a realistic budget.
