With One Question
Maybe it's the financial spiral we're in, but the results of our second global survey suggest that Americans are ending their love affair with spending. In fact, 83 percent--a minimum of 15 percent more people than in any other country polled--said they'd use a cash infusion to pay off debt or add to savings. But we aren't the only ones counting our pennies/euros/rand. Eight of the other ten countries also picked savings as their top choice. In only two nations (hint: red wine and the Riviera) did most people vote to splurge.

From October 6-13, 2008, a 1-question online poll was placed on high-traffic websites in 11 countries (Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, India, Italy, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States). A total of 150 respondents in each country participated in the poll.
