An Easier Way to Husk Corn

If you love grilling corn, but dread the task of shucking it—with all its messy silks and husks—this tip is going to make your day.

Corn on the cob season is terrific. Husking those corn cobs? Not so terrific. (In fact, I usually beg someone else to do it.) But then along comes Chef John on youtube, and he has a magic trick: nuke unhusked corn cobs in the microwave for 3 minutes per each ear, chop off the bottom, and the corn slides right out of the husk, silk and all. You won’t even need to floss afterwards!
