This is not a drill, folks! There’s that slight hint of a chill in the air, Spirit Halloween stores are popping up around every corner and, most important, Trader Joe’s is releasing a flurry of fall-flavored items. That’s right—it’s time for pumpkin everything, plus treats packed with maple, apple, cranberry and so much more seasonal goodness.

If you couldn’t tell, I’m a die-hard Trader Joe’s fan. And while I shop there year-round and am always on the lookout for the best new products, I get especially amped to walk through those doors when the shelves have been stocked with all the new fall goods. And this year, Trader Joe’s just might have outdone itself! I know that for a fact, because I took one for the team and sampled a whole bunch of the goods to write this article. (I know, I have a tough job!)

Ahead, you’ll find the new items that have been generating serious buzz, as well as some under-the-radar treats that are 100% worth adding to your cart. So grab a pen and start making a grocery list for your next TJ’s run … now!

Which new Trader Joe’s items for fall should be on your must-buy list?

Drumroll, please. Here are the results of my extensive online Reddit research and exhaustive (and delicious!) taste-testing: the five best Trader Joe’s fall releases of 2025.

Maple Leaf Ice Cream Sandwiches

Are you familiar with the viral Maple Leaf Cookies from Trader Joe’s? Well, they’re ridiculously delicious, and this is the equally delicious version of them in ice cream form. And they may be the best release of the year, if you believe the wise people on the internet. Comments range from “SO good” to “Strong maple scent/flavor as if I’m biting into a pancake smothered with ice cream and maple syrup. 🥞🍨🍁” (Though, admittedly, some people said they weren’t into the whole “pancake for dessert” idea.)

I thought they were definitely on the sweet side, as most maple items are. But the ice cream is a nice, creamy, maple-meets-honey flavor that pairs brilliantly with the cookie texture. Another Redditor likened the ice cream to Honey-Comb cereal. And a number of people lamented the fact that you only get four per box.

One important note: If you see these in your local Trader Joe’s, grab a box—or 10. Because these treats went viral, they’re flying off the shelves, and a number of stores are already out of stock. A cashier I spoke with told me that brand-new products are often made in small batches to test them out in stores, and that the following year they usually have more stock available. So if you missed the 2025 drop, there’s a solid chance you’ll get to try these next year.

Glazed Pumpkin Pie Spice Donut Holes

I don’t know why, exactly, but let’s be honest: The donut hole is the best part of a donut. And Trader Joe’s has leveled up this sweet treat with pumpkin spice and a sugary glaze—and doesn’t skimp on either.

I’m a sucker for donut holes, and these are definitely one of my favorite iterations. I actually prefer them over TJ’s chocolate version (though those are great too). I think the key is that they’re not overly sweet and only around for a limited time. The small size makes for a nice and easy treat, and it’s a built-in portion-controlled dessert … you know, as long as you don’t eat the entire box in one sitting.

You get 20 donut holes for just $3.49, which is such a steal, you’ll want to add a few packages to your cart.

Apple Pie Spread

Forget the strawberry jam. Even forget the fancy fig. This new Apple Pie Spread is where it’s at. It has the perfect balance of that bright apple zing and a sweet, jammy texture, which makes it perfect for, well, everything. I spread it on toast with a little butter, and it’s also a great addition to an autumn charcuterie board. I even bought a few extra to give as hostess gifts this season. A little bow makes for the prettiest presentation!

Oh, and this is also the perfect “jam” option for a brie and jam bake—just cut a crisscross pattern into an 8-ounce brie wheel, top with about 1/3 cup of the spread, and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Add some fresh slices of apple and fancy crackers, and you’ve got the perfect autumn appetizer.

Salted Maple Cold Foam Creamer

If you live for a classic barista cold foam, Trader Joe’s now-viral Salted Maple Cold Foam Creamer is an absolute must-stock for your coffee bar. It’s the perfect topping for both hot and cold drinks, including coffee, tea and cider. If you haven’t tried a cold foam like this, it’s even more dense than whipped cream, so a little goes a long way. This fall version is also far sweeter, thanks to the maple, though the salty touch helps temper the sweetness.

Gluten-Free Cranberry Raisin Toasts

I love Trader Joe’s crisps for my charcuterie boards (Rosemary & Raisin is my usual go-to), so I was really excited to see this autumnal version with cranberries and raisins. The texture is dense and crisp—and the pumpkin seeds add a nice little crunch—but it’s not super crumbly or overly hard. There’s also a nice sweetness to these that makes them feel like a treat, but not necessarily like a dessert. I love this version with goat cheese and brie, in particular.

Bonus: They’re gluten-free. And while a box will run you $4.99, they’re a whole lot cheaper than the other fancy crackers (especially fancy gluten-free crackers) you’ll find at specialty stores or even your local grocery store.

What other fall treats should you consider?

Maple Brown Butter Almonds
Wendy Gould For Reader's Digest

The five products above are my favorite new autumn treats at Trader Joe’s, but the entire store is seriously a wonderland of seasonal goodness right now. Here’s what was juuuust outside my top-five list.

  • Maple Brown Butter Almonds: These seasonal almonds have a subtly sweet coating of maple and cocoa. I love them for a charcuterie board and rough-chopped on top of yogurt.
  • Pumpkin Ginger Mini Hold the Cone: If you want an autumn ice cream treat that has an autumnal spin (and can’t find the Maple Leaf Ice Cream Cookies), these are a good option. The ginger adds a little kick on top of the pumpkin flavor.
  • Pumpkin Spice Mini Sheet Cake: The fall version of Trader Joe’s beloved sheet cake, this version is ultra-rich, thanks to pumpkin puree, and the pumpkin-pie spices and cream cheese frosting make for a very satisfying fall treat.
  • Sliced Apple Cinnamon Sourdough Bread: This is another brand-new item that went viral recently, so it’s been really hard to find in stores. It’s delicious at breakfast with just a little bit of butter on top.
  • Maple-Flavored Fudge: The holidays aren’t official until you’ve had your first piece of fudge. The salted butter and sweet maple profile is perfection.

What else should you keep in mind when shopping at Trader Joe’s this fall?

Keep your eyes on those shelves, because the seasonal items will keep on coming! The store rolls out new products pretty consistently, and that’s what keeps dedicated shoppers coming back for more—probably more frequently than they should! So if you miss some of the seasonal buys noted above, see if you can get in on the ground level of the others over the next two months.

And don’t give up! Some stores may still have an item you’re looking for, even when another nearby location has sold out. So if you have a few options nearby and you’re trying to find that one favorite you just can’t get out of your head, call the store directly to see if they still have it in stock.
