It’s been just over two years since I started testing the Albany Park Kova Pit modular sectional, and it has completely changed my lounging life. As a movie buff and self-described couch potato, comfort is my top priority when it comes to seating. After countless hours of cuddling and lazing on this sectional, I attest that those seeking a new cloud couch won’t find anything better than the Kova Pit.

Cloud couches are all the rage for their fun look and sink-in feel, and those from Albany Park are some of the most popular. Aptly named for its U-shape, the Albany Park Kova Pit is one of the collection’s larger couches. It features an ottoman (with storage for an additional cost) surrounded by a set of interlocking seats. Once assembled, the couch resembles a large bed, making it ideal for snuggling up for movie nights. While this couch has a large footprint, its modular nature ensures it fits into a variety of spaces.
When arranged as a long couch, the Kova Pit accommodates up to eight people with the ottoman. Plus, with the available customization options, it’s easy to find a style that fits almost any home. Choose from a relaxed pillow top cushion or a structured box cushion for a traditional look. It’s worth mentioning that the cloud cushions look a bit slouchy after use, a style found with all cloud couches. It’s definitely more inviting than it is polished, which I personally prefer.
The entire line is also available in 32 different colors and fabrics that coordinate with a variety of aesthetics. Available fabrics include velvet, basketweave, chenille, boucle, linen and brushed canvas. Most of the offerings are performance fabrics, meaning they’re stain-resistant, durable, and easy to maintain—ideal for homes with kids or pets!
I’ve owned my Kova Pit sectional since December 2023. I chose the dark teal velvet option with ottoman storage and pillow cushions, which I find absolutely worth the splurge. After countless movie nights and naps, it’s still in amazing shape and remains a highly requested snoozing spot for sleepover guests. Plus, it doesn’t look sad after sitting on it, unlike some cloud couches that are prone to sinking. It really is the full package: beautiful, cozy and easy to maintain.
It’s so, so easy to assemble and disassemble when redecorating, thanks to its modular nature. I moved houses last year, and my new living room has completely different dimensions from my last one. The modular nature of the Kova Pit made it so easy to find a configuration that works with the space. Now, instead of an L-shaped couch, we have a long couch with an offset chaise on the other side of the room. The “chaise” is just the ottoman paired with one of the extra seats, but we get tons of compliments on it!
Every week or so, I vacuum the cushions to remove any stray cat hair and give them a good fluff. Overall, I’d consider this a pretty cat-proof couch, depending on the chosen fabric. The velvet fabric really works well to deter any scratching and hide stains. That said, it does attract a lot of cat fur and static. Even still, despite the extra maintenance for the velvet, I caution cat owners on choosing boucle or other textured fabrics in general. At this point, getting rid of the Albany Park sofa would likely cause an uprising in our home. Between me, my husband and my cats, the couch almost always has someone lounging on it. It’s our collective hub for movie watching, board gaming, entertaining and napping. Even after trying other cloud couches, I have to admit that none compares to the Albany Park sofa. The cloud-like, supportive cushions are incredible, the connections are sturdy, and it has just the right amount of back support to boot.
