Quince Australian Shearling Scuff Slipper

Pros:

  • Made of genuine suede and Australian shearling
  • Fits true to size
  • Warm and cozy
  • Holds up well
  • Affordable
  • Free shipping and returns
  • Moisture wicking

Cons:

  • Limited colors

We love everything we’ve tried from Quince and these luxe sheepskin-lined slippers are no exception. They are more than just a soft place for you to rest your feet all day. They are simultaneously fluffy, strong and tough with a durable sole for when you need to run outside quickly.

I practically lived in these slippers for almost three years. If they hadn’t gotten destroyed during a recent home renovation, I’d still be wearing them. Aside from the affordable price tag and classic style, these slippers only get more comfortable with wear. That’s because the shearling lining molds to your foot. After years of constant wear, these slippers didn’t develop any bald spots in the lining and I didn’t encounter any separation around the soles.

Quince offers these slippers in full sizes only. If you are in between sizes, it is recommended you size up. I have wide feet and typically wear a size 10. I found these slippers fit true to size and my feet never felt squashed.

Pros:

  • Timeless classic
  • Comfortable
  • Can be worn indoors and outdoors
  • Holds up well

Cons:

You can’t go wrong with a pair of classic UGG slippers. This pair features UGG’s signature suede upper and plush, cozy lining. A sturdy platform sole make them ideal for indoor and outdoor wear.

Like all UGG slippers, this pair is on the pricier side. As one of the most coveted brands at DSW, it’s also excluded from most sales, coupons and promotions. However, these trendy slippers are so comfortable and so durable we’re confident you won’t regret your purchase.

Cozy Earth Puffy Sheep Slippers

Pros:

  • Made with plush sheep fur and shearling
  • Durable rubber sole
  • Fits true to size
  • Holds up to everyday wear

Cons:

  • Limited color options

Our editors are huge fans of Cozy Earth. When the brand dropped these Puffy Sheep Slippers, I immediately added them to my cart and have not regretted it one bit. In fact, I’ve purchased several pairs and given them as gifts. They’re that comfy.

These cozy slippers are crafted with ultra-soft, puffy sheep fur that is naturally odor-resistant and breathable. Having worn them with and without socks for over a year now, I can attest to their odor-resistance and breathability. No stinky or sweaty feet! Better yet, they run true to size and were the perfect width for my wide feet.

Because I have a strict “no shoes in the house” policy, I don’t wear my slippers outside. But if I did, I am confident that this pair would hold up incredibly well. Though lightweight, the rubber sole is quite sturdy.

The only downside? These slippers are only offered in three neutral colors. Cozy Earth did introduce a pair of pale pink slippers which, sadly, sold out before I could get my hands on a pair. As they continue to roll out their editor-loved pajamas in gorgeous new hues and patterns, we’re hoping to see more slippers in the near future.

Snoozies
Marisa Hillman for Reader's Digest

Pros:

  • Super soft and cozy
  • Tons of patterns and colors
  • Perfect for wide feet
  • Machine washable
  • Non-skid soles
  • Perfect for travel
  • Inexpensive

Cons:

  • Rubber grips do wear off over time
  • Have to be pulled on

We love a good slipper, but sometimes we just want to curl up on our favorite reading chair without something bulky on our feet. Enter Snoozies slipper socks. These affordable slipper socks feature soft, non-skid soles and come in loads of colors, patterns and styles. And since they’re slipper socks, they’re perfect for feet of all shapes and sizes.

Okay, call me crazy but I have multiple pairs of slippers. My Snoozies are my official “upstairs slippers”. They’re also the pair I stuff in my bag when I’m traveling. I don’t mind wearing them in a hotel room since I can toss them in the washing machine when I get home.

There are a few things to consider when purchasing a pair of Snoozies. First, putting them on isn’t a hands-free affair. While sliding your feet in is easy, I do find that I have to use my hands to pull them up over my heel. Second, the rubber grips on the soles do wear off over time. I’ve had my current pair since Christmas and have noticed some missing grips. That said, I mostly wear them on carpet so I’m not too concerned about slipping.

Orthofeet Clara

Pros:

  • Good arch support
  • Wide toe box
  • Cushioned heel
  • Doesn't slip off
  • Adjustable strap

Cons:

  • Not necessarily the most stylish or modern

If you suffer from foot problems, you’ll definitely want to try these Orthofeet Clara slippers. Made with a technical, orthotic footbed, each stride is supported even on the hardest floors. Anatomical arch support reduces stress on feet, absorbs shock, and helps ankles and knees feel more supported. Plus, the adjustable strap provides a secure fit, and the faux fur lining makes the whole thing oh-so-comfy. And while they’re on the pricier side, you can rest assured that you’ll get plenty of wear out of them.

Staff writer Barbara Zito has been wearing these slippers on a daily basis for two years now and doesn’t expect to toss them anytime soon. “I live in the Clara slippers, especially in winter,” she raves. “I’m in my second year of wearing them and I’m sure I can get a third out of them.” It’s a good thing since these cozy slippers have solved many of her foot problems. “I’ve got flat feet and had some plantar fasciitis last year,” she says. “This slipper provides plenty of arch support so I’m comfortable all day long.”

Like so many orthopedic slippers, these may not be the most stylish on our list. However, it’s safe to say that solid support surpasses all trends. And speaking of safety, you can rest assured you won’t be slipping and sliding out of these slippers. “Normally I’m not a clog person. I’m clumsy and prefer the safety and comfort of a slipper with a full back,” explains Barbara. “But the Clara slipper stays snug on my foot with and without socks. They’ve never slipped off once!”

With an expanded size range (5 through 12) and three different width options, you’ll want to add these to your list of unique gifts to give comfort-seeking loved ones.

Crocs Slippers

best for matching

Crocs Classic Cozzzy Slipper

Pros:

  • Sizes available for women, men and children
  • Has signature Crocs backstrap
  • Made with faux fur shearling
  • Rubber grips on soles

Cons:

  • Soles are too thin for outside wear

Shopping editor Mary Henn was on the hunt for matching family slippers and these Crocs Classic Cozzzy Slippers were a no-brainer. “I originally bought these because I wanted matching slippers for nights in with my toddler. But fell in love with them because they have the signature Crocs backstrap, which means they don’t slide off my feet while carrying laundry down the stairs,” says Mary. “More importantly, they stay on my toddler’s feet.”

Mary, who has been wearing these cozy slippers daily for several months, insists they only get comfier with wear. That’s because they have a comfy sink-in footbed and are completely covered in faux-fur shearling. The only thing you’ll want to keep in mind is the fact that these slippers are for indoor-use only. “The soles are pretty thin,” Mary explains. “So if you’re looking for support or for something to wear out of the house, this is not the slipper.”

The Cozzzy slipper is available in women’s sizes as well as toddler, youth and men’s sizes so be sure to order for the whole fam!

Olukai

OluKai Ku'i Slippers

Pros:

  • Made with full-grain leather and 100% genuine shearling
  • Wet grip rubber sole for outdoor wear
  • Every purchase gives back to Hawaiian nonprofits
  • High quality

Cons:

  • Pricey
  • Not offered in wide sizes

Slip into the fluffy OluKai Ku’i slippers and you’ll never look back. Available in four easy-to-love neutral shades, these are simply the most pillow-like footbeds on our list of the best slippers for women. A natural shearling-lined inside provides an unbelievably soft cushion that only improves with each wear. Even better, a rubber sole with traction makes this shoe suitable for outside; it also gives you secure footing on floors, even those shiny, just-cleaned ones.

I received these slippers as a Christmas gift and was in love with the thick, cushy design as soon as I took them out of the box. Sadly, they were a bit narrow for my wide feet. Rather than go through the hassle of returning or exchanging, my tween daughter took ownership. She’s a lover of all things cozy and quickly gave these slippers her seal of approval. She has a bit of room to grow into them, but that hasn’t stopped her from donning them every day since Christmas.

As an added bonus, every purchase you make from OluKai supports Hawaii though the Ama OluKai Foundation. It’s a great gift that gives back!

Industry Trends for 2026

Cozy slippers aren’t going anywhere. “We are still seeing cozy slippers with sherpa or sheepskin linings and a lug EVA sole as the lead trend in the slipper category,” says a DSW spokesperson. “Utility and versatility are still relevant. Shoppers want a cozy slipper that can serve as a street style fashion moment.”

The spokesperson went on to add that at DSW, UGG is still the most coveted brand alongside budget-friendly alternatives like Bearpaw.

How we chose the best women’s slippers

As mentioned above, I have a strict “no shoes in the house” rule. On top of that, I have a different pair of slippers for each floor of my house. I wish I was joking. In I don’t want to trek dust and dirt from the basement to the main floor and I don’t want to bring dog hair from the main floor to the bedrooms upstairs. Or maybe I’m just quirky. Either way, I have gone through lots of slippers over the years. I started with my favorite pairs before checking with our team of editors and writers for their go-to slippers. I also spoke with a DSW spokesperson to learn more about what styles and brands are trending in 2026.

Why you should trust us

As shopping experts, our only job is to help you find a winning product. We start with the research and reporting basics—what products are made of, what they look like and how much they cost—to ensure that we’re only recommending the buys that are worth your time and money. Then, we research the features that speak to the product’s quality, taking advice from industry insiders and subject matter experts on what makes a product a smart value (or worthy of a splurge). Finally, we do the work of combing through user reviews to see how real people interact with the product, and if it stands up to the test. When able, we also test products ourselves to see how they hold up to real life wear and tear. We will never recommend a product that does not meet or exceed our expectations.
