Don’t you envy people who have naturally gorgeous eyelashes? I do. I mean, I suppose my own lashes could be worse, but they could also be a lot better. In their natural state, they’re just kind of, well, there. There are plenty of mascaras that will give you long, lush lashes, but in reality, they can only do so much.

I have never been able to master applying false eyelashes, and find eyelash extensions to be too pricey and too high maintenance. So when I heard about a bestselling eyelash serum that would make my lashes look longer and fuller without glue or having to sit for hours in a chair every couple of weeks, I was immediately intrigued. I ordered a tube to try it for myself. Behold: Here’s my GrandeLash Serum review.

What is GrandeLash-MD Serum?

Grande Cosmetics’ GrandeLash-MD Serum is an ophthalmologist-tested lash-enhancing serum that’s infused with vitamins, peptides and amino acids. It’s a once-a-day formula created to give longer, thicker lashes in about four to six weeks, with full results after three months. While there are several lash-enhancing serums on the market, this one has amassed a cult following and seems to make its way into everyone’s TikTok feed sooner or later. It’s even made its way into my algorithm, which is almost exclusively BookTok with a smattering of funny animals. TikTok aside, this serum also has thousands of five-star reviews on Amazon and Sephora.

The serum itself is simple to use, odorless and colorless, but it doesn’t come cheap. It’s available in three sizes, so you can decide which one is right for you. I opted for the regular size, which contains a three-month supply and carries a $68 price tag. If you’re not quite sure, you can order the travel-size tube, which will last you about six weeks and only set you back $36. But if you’re confident that this will be your new obsession, then you can order a jumbo tube, which gives you a six-month supply and costs a cool $125.

Why is GrandeLash-MD lash serum viral?

If you’re a BeautyTok regular, then you’re probably not surprised to hear that the hashtag grandelashserum has 36 million views. In fact, even if you’re not on BeautyTok, you may have come across a video or two about this serum like I did. As a makeup minimalist, the creator hooked me with her “how to never have to wear mascara again” pitch. Now, I have to say that when it comes to people pushing products on social media, I’m a total skeptic. My first thought is always that they’re some influencer who received the product for free, is getting paid to post about it and probably doesn’t actually use it in real life. However, her video was so convincing that I ended up down a GrandeLash TikTok rabbit hole and, reader, wow. There are just tons of videos showing off long, natural, fluttery lashes that the creators swear are because of this serum. And not only that, but there are even celebrities who use it, including the iconic supermodel Brooke Shields, who recently touted GrandeLash-MD serum as a surefire way to get fuller brows. I, like so many others, was sold.

How we tested it

before and after using the grand md lash serumCourtesy Marisa Hillman

Full disclosure: I did have a couple of concerns before I started using this serum. First and foremost, the skin around my eyes can be sensitive. I’ve tried eye creams in the past that caused excessive watering or irritation, and I worried that this might do the same. Second, one of the beauty myths I’ve heard thrown around is that if and when you stop using a lash serum, your eyelashes will fall out! Who wants that? But after scouring through tons of reviews and doing my own research, I deemed it safe for my own use. If you are concerned, talk to a dermatologist or ophthalmologist before trying this yourself.

I’m a minimalist when it comes to makeup, especially in the summer. If anything, I only wear a bit of mascara—you can apply mascara after using GrandeLash-MD Serum once it’s fully dry—and some lip gloss. I am, however, a stickler when it comes to my skincare routine. Adding this serum to the end of my nighttime regimen made the most sense as I knew I’d be applying it to clean lashes and lingering mascara wouldn’t be an issue.

Using this serum was seriously so easy that I’m still waiting for the catch. After my skin was clean and dry, I used the brush at the end of the wand to apply the serum to my upper lash line. I was skeptical of the instructions which say, “use one dip for both eyes.” It just didn’t seem like enough to me. I did a slow swipe along my upper lash line just as I would with a liquid eyeliner. Then I rotated the wand and used the other side of the brush to do the other eye. To my surprise, one dip was exactly enough.

The instructions also tell you to allow the serum to dry for one to two minutes, and this step is a must as your eyelid will feel cold and wet right after applying. Since I’m not the most patient person in the world, standing in the bathroom with my eyes closed for two minutes was more than I could take. I grabbed a magazine and fanned my face for a few seconds until the serum dried. Once it dried, my eyelids didn’t feel cold, wet or sticky. They felt totally normal.

I didn’t experience any redness or irritation after using the serum, and the whole process only added about 60 seconds to my nightly routine. Once I was finished applying and drying, I went about the rest of my evening before climbing into bed and just letting my lashes soak in all of the good stuff.

Oftentimes if something sounds too good to be true, that’s because it is. However, there are a few unicorns out there that are in fact as good as they sound. Besides being super easy to use, this serum really is loaded with beneficial ingredients. In fact, the key ingredients in this serum include L-proline, an amino acid that helps strengthen lashes. It also contains hyaluronic acid, which seals in moisture and prevents dry, brittle lashes that break easily. Its third key ingredient is vitamin E, which maintains healthy lashes. So even if you’re skeptical about the length results, at the very least you’re giving your lashes a dose of vitamins, peptides and amino acids.

What other users have to say about GrandeLash-MD Serum

GrandeLash-MD Serum has garnered thousands of die-hard fans. You’ll find anywhere from 1,400 to 2,000 glowing reviews just about everywhere it’s sold, and that’s not even counting Amazon which has over 24,300 five-star ratings.

EscherFan says in her review, “GrandeLash-MD actually worked! After about six weeks, I started noticing my lashes were a lot longer. This time they actually looked good with mascara applied. Plus the product is once-a-day application with the brush built right in.”

Thousands of people swear by GrandeLash-MD Serum, but it’s worth noting that everyone’s results will differ. For some, it may take longer than four weeks before they see any changes in their lashes. That being said, good things are worth the wait. Take it from Replicant, who says, “For the first five weeks I saw nothing. Then there was a sudden jump at six weeks where growth took off. Suddenly the longest lashes were near my eyebrows.” She even updated her review months later to say, “I have visibly longer lashes after a full three-month course of GrandeLash. I saw my dentist yesterday after three months, and she was raving about how great my lashes look.”

And if you’re still on the fence, Deborah C. Beno totally gets it. She says, “I thought of all of the people hesitating to make the purchase because of doubts…And, this product for sure delivers! I am your number one skeptic on just about everything, especially products that claim to defy or enhance nature. GrandeLash-MD really, really grows your lashes and also thickens them.”

Final Verdict

after using the grand md lash serumCourtesy Marisa Hillman

Good things come to those who wait. I happen to fall into the group of people whose lashes take a bit longer than four weeks to grow. After four weeks, I hadn’t noticed any difference in my lashes. However, knowing that this easy-to-use serum delivers a daily dose of vitamins, peptides and amino acids to my natural lashes made me okay with that, and I kept going. It wasn’t until the start of week six that I noticed a difference, and boy did I notice it. I applied the serum before bed as usual, and I swear the magic happened overnight. I looked in the mirror the next morning and poof! There they were. Now, almost four months later, I apply it every other night for maintenance.

I’ve never experienced any redness or irritation, my lashes haven’t fallen out and I happily recommend GrandeLash-MD to just about everyone I know including friends, who have all asked what I’ve done to my lashes. Even my hairdresser gave me a resounding, “What’s up with your eyelashes? They look amazing!” during my last appointment. In short, go ahead and order this serum right now!
