Halloween is still a long way away. But the date (nor 90-degree temperature!) is stopping the internet from getting in on the fun early. In recent weeks, we’ve seen The Home Depot bring back its iconic giant skeleton, and Starbucks announced the beloved PSL is returning at the end of the month.
Now, viral toy brand Jellycat is ushering in spooky season with an array of whimsical plush friends that just dropped on August 18. We got a sneak peek of these cute critters and can confirm they’re worth the hype! Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 Halloween Jellycat collection.
These plush pals are getting us in the spooky spirit! Find a mix of classic, costumed and creative designs during the 2025 Halloween Jellycat drop.
This year’s Jellycat Halloween collection has a little something for everyone. You’ll find familiar friends, like Peanut and Bartholomew Bear, dressed in seasonal costumes. Classic shapes like pumpkins, skulls and ghosts get an eerie upgrade, while seasonal critters like bats, owls and crows make an appearance. And since you can’t have too many tricks without treats, there are also nods to seasonal favorites like candy apples.
Here’s the full lineup:
Across the board, I’m impressed with the blend of nostalgic Halloween shapes and quirky designs. Plus, every seasonal toy aligns with Jellycat’s ethical standards and commitment to quality, safety and sustainability. (AKA these are gifts and decor you can feel good about.)
We tapped our team’s plushie experts, and Reader’s Digest editors are torn over which Halloween Jellycats are an immediate “add to cart.” Here’s what they had to say:
“There’s just something irresistibly cute about a plushy in costume,” says shopping editor Mary Henn. “I’m a total sucker for Bartholomew Bear, though, especially when he’s decked out for the holidays. And of course, he’s in a fuzzy little spider outfit for Halloween. I think it’s the perfect sweet and spooky gift for all ages.”
This holiday-themed Bartholomew sits about 8 inches tall, and the spider costume adds a bit of heft around his bottom. I was pleasantly surprised in testing to discover that the costume comes off, thanks to a hook-and-loop closure on the front. The headpiece, however, does not.
I’m a sucker for the Jellycat animal designs, and Heccaty Hootnightly is no exception. This stout little owl has the most whimsically annoyed facial expression, and I love his iconic black, purple and orange color scheme.
Heccaty is just as cute in person as he is in the listing photo. However, the brim of his hat can fully cover his eyes, so I would suggest displaying him somewhere higher up where you can see his expression. I plan on nestling him in a wreath or perching him on my bar cart!
“Candy apples are my favorite spooky season delicacy, so I’m a little biased,” says shopping editor Emily Way. “But between the little feet and creepy-cute smile, this sweet Toffee Apple plush stole my heart—and it’s not too unsettling for the little ones. Personally, I find her charming enough to display year-round!”
The texture on this little gal is 10/10. Her feet, body, “toffee coating” and stick all use different fabrics. Talk about sweet attention to detail!
Content director Nicole Doster admits: “Ooky Jack O’Lantern is short, squat and absolutely adorable. I can’t get enough of his cute grinning face! It’s the kind of plush I wouldn’t mind having sit on my desk all throughout the fall.”
While there is no shortage of plush pumpkins on the market, this Jack should last a lifetime. The seams match up beautifully, creating a perfect spherical shape. And the facial embroidery details have zero imperfections.
Digital product manager (and Jellycat super-fan) Gina Burke has her eyes set on Broox Bat this spooky season. “As a mom of two, I can attest that kids love playing with stuff that has wings since you can pretend to make it fly. Broox will be an adorable addition to our seasonal Jellycat collection. I love his tiny nose and hands paired with oversized ears. Plus, it’s a good educational opportunity as I can teach my kids about bats’ nocturnal behavior, echolocation, etc.”
Like the toffee apple, Broox has impeccable texture. The mix of fabrics breathes life into this cutie, and I can confirm that his wings are perfectly flappable. He’s an ideal companion for seasonal sensory play!

New Halloween Jellycats are available to shop on the brand’s website starting Monday, August 18. At this time, you’ll also be able to score some restocks from previous years, such as Mummy Bob, Skeleton Bob and Spookipaws Cat. Prices start at $28.
Seasonal launches tend to sell out fast, so we suggest shopping early if there’s a Halloween Jellycat you must have. Something wickedly whimsical this way comes!
The 2025 Halloween Jellycats launch on Monday, August 18. Jellycat is known for surprising its fans, though, so don’t be surprised if other fall friends drop throughout the season.
You can buy Jellycats directly through the brand’s website. Select styles are also available at Nordstrom, The Paper Store and Crate & Barrel Kids, among other retailers. They are also available at many small businesses.
Be wary of any Jellycats sold through third-party merchants. There are many faux plush listings that use images of the real deal. If you see a price that is significantly lower than the list price through Jellycat, it’s likely too good to be true.
Jellycat is a brand name for high-quality stuffed animals. Each plush is ethically made and is on a mission to make you smile. The brand has gone viral in recent years and is popular among kids and adults alike.
