While Hanna Andersson Christmas PJs come in sets, you don’t have to stick with a matching top and bottom. They’re actually designed to be mixed and matched to create your own unique holiday look. For example, the Holiday Snowmen pajamas are available in either red and white snowmen or red and white stripes. Sure, you could choose the same print for the long-sleeve top and the pants, or you could choose one of each for a festive vibe all your own.
The Hanna Andersson Christmas pajamas are available in baby, kids’, women’s, men’s, adult unisex and pet sizes. Most of the brand’s clothing is pre-washed, so shrinking shouldn’t be an issue. Just be sure to follow the care instructions on the label. All of Hanna Andersson’s pajamas meet Oeko-Tex Standard 100, meaning the certified textiles were tested for harmful substances and have passed safety tests.
In 2022, deputy editor Katie Bandurski ordered five adult flannel pajama pants in various sizes and one women’s flannel pajama set from the brand’s Deer Deer collection. “For my family, it’s all about feeling together and united during the holiday season. We traditionally open presents on Christmas Eve, and it’s so nice to come home, change out of church clothes and relax in something cozy while we watch It’s a Wonderful Life,” she explains. “This has been our tradition for many years, and the matching PJs add a little extra flair. My sister lives out of state, so the holidays are one of our best chances to all be together.”
Katie was impressed with her new pajamas from the start, noting that they appeared warm and cozy, durable and high-quality. Like all of Hanna Andersson’s pajamas, the flannel styles Katie tested are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and made from 100% cotton. No sweaty polyester here!
Once she tried them on, she was not disappointed. However, she recommends sizing down if you’re currently in between sizes. “Generally, I’d say they run a bit big, which is great for that super cozy fit. After all, there’s nothing worse than tight pajamas,” she says. I’ll point out here that I agree with Katie. Last year, I ordered Grinch long johns for my family. While my children’s pajamas fit them well, my adult size medium set ran big on the top and bottom. I actually tried to shrink them but didn’t have any luck.
Now, speaking of washing and shrinking, we all know that lots of wear and washing can take its toll on clothing. And after three Christmases, Katie’s Hanna Andersson pajamas have seen their fair share of wear. In fact, several of her family members often wear their Christmas pajamas all winter long because they’re so cozy and warm. So how do Hannas hold up? According to Katie, they wash beautifully and hold up really well. In fact, the only thing Katie regrets about her Hanna Andersson purchase was not ordering a matching pet bandana. “I should have also ordered a pet bandana because the top in my pajama set ended up going to my sister’s golden retriever, Luna, who wanted in on the fun,” she says.
The only thing you’ll want to consider before making a purchase is the sizing. Not only do they run large, but Katie had some trouble with pant length. “The adult size medium was too big in the waist for my slim 6-foot husband but the size small is slightly too short in the legs,” she explains. “It would be nice if they came in various heights.” And while adult sizes run the gamut, from an XXS to an XXL, there aren’t any true plus size options.
