If you’re looking for the secret to flawless skin, look no further. This simple, two-step skin-care routine from Korean beauty mavens is super easy to steal. Called “glass skin,” the popular Instagram trend buffs and hydrates your complexion until it becomes as shiny and smooth as glass. (Adopting these 50 everyday habits can make you look way younger, too.)
“Glass skin is this idea of transparent and translucent skin,” Alicia Yoon, founder of Peach & Lily, told Refinery29. “It’s a sign of youthfulness and it’s one of the most strived-for qualities in Korea.”
But getting a gorgeous, fresh-faced complexion doesn’t come easy, Yoon warns. “It’s not something you get overnight—it’s consistent skin care that gives you that refined texture, the pinnacle of youthful skin.”
In other words, “achieving this coveted glow requires long-term commitment—not a quick fix,” according to Refinery29. You’ll need products that can reach deep below your skin, rather than just sitting on top. Start with these dermatologist-recommended products for every type of skin.
Once you have the right products, though, the rest is easy. Start by buffing your skin with an exfoliator to create that enviably smooth texture. Next, dab on a hydrating serum to give it a glass-like glow. If you want a more natural shine, simply apply less of the serum and let it soak into your skin overnight. Then repeat, repeat, repeat until it becomes a habit. This internet trend is good for your health and beauty, but some other twenty-first-century trends aren’t; these internet challenges aren’t safe.
Voila! By incorporating this into your everyday skin-care routine, you’ll have smoother, younger looking skin in no time. But if skin-care products aren’t for you, these foods could do wonders for your skin, too.
