Based off the classic Jedi farewell “May the Force be with you,” the fourth day of the fifth month—otherwise known as “May the 4th Be With You”—has become officially recognized by Disney (who owns the Star Wars franchise) as a celebration of all things Star Wars, with events, sales, and new releases occurring to mark the day. Not to mention the May the 4th be with you memes. Of course, true Star Wars nerds celebrate two Star Wars Days in May: the 4th, and the 25th, which was the release date of the original Star Wars movie Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope in 1977. If you’re planning to celebrate by watching the (12!!!) Star Wars movies in order, giving yourself nearly three weeks to do so between bookended Star Wars Days seems like a wise move.

If you prefer the Dark Side of the Force (we hear they have cookies?), May 5 offers an opportunity to celebrate not only Cinco de Mayo but also the second pun-tastic Star Wars Day: “Revenge of the Fifth” (named after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith). Of course, we all know Sith always come in twos—so May 6, punnily titled “Revenge of the Sixth,” can round out a three-day Star Wars extravaganza if you’re that way inclined, and we are that way inclined.
