Warm weather, longer days and relaxing vacations are certainly all reasons to love summer, but McDonald’s just gave us another reason to get really excited about the long, lazy days ahead. There’s nothing better than an ice-cold McDonald’s McFlurry on a hot day, except possibly the brand-new McFlurry, debuting just in time for summer. If you’ve ever wished for a flavor that feels just like summertime, your wish is McDonald’s command.

What’s the new McFlurry flavor?
Light your campfires and round up your friends, because the new flavor heading to McDonald’s is Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry! Think of the S’mores McFlurry as your childhood favorite s’mores in frozen dessert form. It’s made from McDonald’s signature creamy vanilla soft serve mixed with Hershey’s milk chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows. What’s not to love?!
When will it be released?
If you’re already reaching for your car keys to head to the nearest McDonald’s in search of the new Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry, you’re definitely not alone. But you might want to hit pause, because it hasn’t made its official debut just yet. McDonald’s hasn’t confirmed the release date of the new McFlurry, but according to the @snackolater Instagram account, it’s supposed to roll out at locations nationwide starting June 10.
What are fans saying about it?
Even though the Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry hasn’t officially been released yet, fans are really excited that this new flavor is headed to McD’s. “The happy dance is coming out in full force,” wrote one excited Instagram user. “Just saw this and told my Mom I’m picking her up, and we’re going to McDonald’s for this McFlurry as soon as it comes out!!!!” wrote another.
Some fans did point out that in order to try the brand-new McFlurry flavor, the ice cream machines at McDonald’s stores will have to be working, which is a fair point. “The real question isn’t ‘will it be good?’ it’s ‘will the machine be working?'” wrote one Reddit user.
McDonald’s ice cream machines have a reputation for not necessarily being up and running at all times, but you can always check the McBroken website to make sure the ice cream machine is working as it should, and you’ll be able to get a McFlurry when you head to your nearest McDonald’s.
Has anyone tried it yet?
Though the Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry isn’t available at all locations yet, at least a few have rolled it out already. The user behind the @snackolater Instagram account had the chance to preview the new flavor ahead of its official release date, and if his review is to be believed, we’re all in for a real treat.
“This is really good,” he says between bites. “This S’mores is delicious, the graham crackers and the marshmallows, and the Hershey’s chocolate blend together. This is perfect! And honestly, we should be having these things year round. This is delicious.”
Will this be a permanent addition to the menu?
While we wish the Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry was here to stay, it’s not a permanent addition to the McDonald’s menu. It’s only available for a limited time, from June 10 to Aug. 11. But you never know! McDonald’s is known for giving fans what they want, so if enough people fall in love with the Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry it might make another appearance in the future.
McDonald’s has a reputation for its limited-time-only McFlurry flavors, like the Shamrock McFlurry, Grandma McFlurry and Strawberry Shortcake Flurry, not to mention the brand-new S’mores McFlurry flavor. But there are also two McFlurry flavors that are constant fixtures on the McDonald’s menu: the classic Oreo McFlurry and M&M McFlurry.
