The Most Trusted Airline in America

Once you start flying on the most trusted airline in America, you'll never want to fly with any other.

Booking a flight, packing your bags, planning transportation to the airport, and navigating your way to the right terminal and gate can be insanely stressful. Something that can help take the stress and anxiety out of traveling is knowing that you booked your flight with a trustworthy airline. But how do you determine what the most trusted airline in America is? You ask the people that fly on a regular basis.

For the sixth year in a row, Reader’s Digest teamed up with the research firm Ipsos Connect to ask over 3,500 Americans which brands they rely on and trust the most in 40 different categories ranging from household products to travel. To see what brands came out on top in the other categories, take a look at Reader’s Digest‘s Most Trusted Brands of 2020.

Now, the answer you’ve been waiting for. The majority of Americans surveyed chose Southwest Airlines as the airline brand that they trust the most. Southwest is all about “friendly, reliable, and low-cost air travel.” They work hard to make flying simple and safe, but also fun for the people traveling on their airline. Southwest makes sure that its customers aren’t surprised with any hidden fees and they don’t have bag fees for checked bags. They also offer a Rapid Rewards program that lets you earn points that you can use on future trips. Once you fall in love with Southwest Airlines—which most customers do once they fly with them—you don’t have to worry about needing to book with a different airline because they serve more than 100 destinations throughout the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

The customers surveyed said that they “treat their customers fairly and respectfully” and they love Southwest because it’s “affordable, clean, and safe.” Customers also commented on the fact that their flights are rarely delayed and that they enjoy the casual vibe of the airline and airport experience when they fly Southwest.
