[factoid]Why is canned salmon so healthy? For one thing, salmon in general is rich with omega-3 fatty acids highly nutritious oils that help lower blood cholesterol levels. But canned salmon also contains a fair amount of calcium, which helps lower blood pressure. The calcium comes from the salmon bones, which are softened and made edible in the canning process.[/factoid]

[cooking_tip]Serve with steamed green beans, and rice pudding with dried cherries for dessert.[/cooking_tip]
