Here’s why: Your Honey Crisps may do fine (and look pretty!) arranged in a bowl on your kitchen counter. But to help them keep their crunch, you should store your apples in the fridge. Doing so can prolong their life by up to two weeks, according to the pros.
As for your oranges? If they are ripe when you buy them, it is also best to keep these citruses in the fridge. Keeping them cold can slow down the ripening process, which will retain their doses of vitamin C. These storage tricks will make your food last longer, too.
