Barbara is a freelance writer with more than two decades of experience covering home and lifestyle trends—everything from cleaning and organization to home improvement and lawn and garden care. Her work has appeared in Reader's Digest, Taste of Home, Real Simple, The Spruce and Apartment Therapy, among others. Before pursuing writing full time, she worked as an educator, first as a middle school and high school English teacher, then as an adjunct literature professor and later as a university career advisor. Barbara also writes fiction. She is the author of the novel Lucky Stiff and is working on a second book. She lives in Staten Island, New York, with her husband and their dog.
