Raymond (Ray) K. Price, Jr., (1930–2019) was an editor at the New York Herald Tribune (1957–1966)—and became editor of the editorial page in the final two years before the paper closed. After a career in journalism he went to work for the Nixon presidential campaign and served on Nixon's White House staff throughout his presidency, becoming chief speechwriter in 1970. He penned some of the highest profile speeches, including Nixon's inaugural address and his resignation speech, as well as Gerold Ford's pardon.
