Lorna Roberts/ShutterstockCue the Internet frenzy! The British royal family is hiring, which means you’re one application away from working for the Queen of England, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry. Talk about major bragging rights. (But let’s not forget that the royal family members have their own jobs, too.)
Now that the due date of royal baby number three has been announced, Duchess Kate will need some extra hands. Kensington Palace is searching for a senior communications officer to manage the day-to-day output of news through traditional, digital, and social media. Not only must candidates have experience in communications, but they should also display “the ability to make decisions, using integrity and judgment whilst exercising caution is also an essential requisite for the job, as is the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion at all times.”
Is social media not your cup of tea? You can also apply to be a conservation intern for the Royal Collection Trust. The 8-month position involves “a wide range of conservation activities” for the royal collection of ceramics and decorative art. Applicants should possess fantastic organizational skills, an extreme attention to detail, and experience in restoration and rebuilding of ceramics. An obsession with the British royal family might not be a bad qualification, either.
But you’d better update your resume ASAP, because applications are due soon. (To make your resume stand out from the crowd, check out what every employer REALLY wants to see on your resume.) The communications position closes on Thursday, October 26 at 11:55 pm GMT. Applications for the conservation intern position are due on Sunday, October 29 at 11:55 pm GMT. If you get nervous about the wait time, remember how long a background check takes.
