“When you consider that an entire plate of broccoli contains the same number of Calories as a small spoonful of peanut butter, you might think twice the next time you decide what to eat.” – From WiseGeek.com
Though I love cheese (as I noted here,) when faced with actual pictures of what I could “spend” 200 calories on, I’m not so sure I’d pick cheese. WiseGeek.com’s photos show that I could have a small piece of cheese versus what looks to be a whole bag of baby carrots for the same amount of calories. Eating that small piece of cheese would probably take me about 15 seconds, while a whole bag of baby carrots would take me 15 minutes, giving me more time to register that I am full. As you can see from the photos, if you’re looking for quantity with fewer calories, fruit and vegetables are the way to go.
