It’s your lucky day

You may already know that the Farmer’s Almanac predicts the weather for the year to come. But its authors also conduct thorough research on the movements of stars, moons, and planets. Armed with these astrological calculations, they’re able to determine the most auspicious days of the coming year to perform many different tasks. The 2021 edition of the Old Farmer’s Almanac debuted in September 2020 with a two-page spread showcasing the “Best Days for 2021” chart. “This chart is based on the Moon’s sign and shows the best days each month for certain activities,” writes Celeste Longacre, gardener, astrologer, and Almanac contributor. To be fair, many of the items the chart lists are pretty specific only to farmers—best days to “graft or pollinate,” anyone?—but plenty of others are things you probably struggle over scheduling.

Needless to say, no matter when you decide to do these things this year, make sure to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
