Aries (March 21–April 19)

This fire sign is all about adventure in life, and displaying their travels and outgoing energy throughout their home. Because you value experience over materialism, your home will look extremely personalized. But that doesn’t mean it’s filled with messy knickknacks. Instead, a strong and bold red wall will be used to evoke power, while a gallery wall will reveal intimate touches of experiences remembered. The end result is a home that feels expressive, for the always colorful Aries. This sign will want to be very careful with their natural decor instincts—they’re definitely prone to producing home decor horrors you can’t look away from.

Taurus (April 20–May 20)

A sign rooted in the earth, the Taurus is drawn to natural materials like rustic wood and unpolished stone. There is plenty of greenery lining your rooms to bring your love of the outside in. Flaunting your sophisticated style rounds out your earthy side, however, well-made timeless pieces and fresh flowers decorating your kitchen table of the utmost importance. Plus, there’s nothing a Taurus loves more than tranquility: science-backed secrets to a stress-free home.

Gemini (May 21–June 20)

Gemini represents two different personalities in one, resulting in an ever-changing mood that creates duality in your home decor. An example of a style the Gemini might gravitate toward is Modern Farmhouse, combining the glass cabinets and porcelain sinks of an old-fashioned farmhouse with modern design like chrome appliances and open shelving. Moody bright orange, chartreuse, and lime green make for lively and flirty points of interest. You can also use these 8 tricks interior decorators would never tell you for free.

Cancer (June 21–July 22)

This sensitive water sign lives for calming colors and soothing accents in the home—a place that serves as your oasis despite your abundance for daily adventuring. Distressed woods, furry rugs, white walls, bouquets of light-colored flowers, and rooms meant to bring the family together make for a relaxed yet clean environment. The Cancer tends to shy away from bold, harsh or contrasting colors or patterns. More about what your home decor can reveal about your personality.

Leo (July 23–August 22)

Driven by the desire to be loved and admired, Leo will decorate their home to mimic a stage, with theatrical pieces like masks or wall hangings and expressive statues. Your home has the feeling of a castle with its intricate layers of art and treasures, and the end result is a space that bursts with luxury, even if a piece was purchased for next to nothing. Gold, yellow, rust and Bordeaux are colors beloved by the Leo. Regal lions will love these home decor ideas that can upgrade any space to seem more expensive.

Virgo (August 23–September 22)

This earth sign is ruled by the concept of foundation, which makes the Virgo prioritize a creative space to read, write and work. You require time to unwind in order to prepare for social settings, and your decor reflects that. Calming earth tones like taupe, ocher and clean-linen white are found in your space. The result is a sense of modesty and order that doesn’t sacrifice style. And just because we know you Virgos want to know: here’s what interior designers notice about your home as soon as they walk in.

Libra (September 23–October 22)

Libra’s charming energy, combined with their balanced personality, makes for a sign welcomed by all. Your decor plays off of this sheer, effortless elegance with pale pinks and grays, sleek-lined furniture and warm hardwood floors. Libras like one-of-a-kind furniture that’s sturdy and sweet without being too plush. Everything comes together in a nonchalant way, never looking too messy or too perfect. You have a particular affection for the Mid-Century modern style of the ’50s and ’60s, but your taste is never outdated or expired. A Libra stays well away of outdated home decorating rules.

Scorpio (October 23–November 21)

Scorpios enigmatic nature makes for a home that is refined in style. Unlike the showy space of a Leo, or the eclecticism of a Pisces, you prefer classic, neutral furniture, and minimalistic decorations. The result is a home that surely has a noticeable flare but in that laid-back, cool kind of way. Distressed country woods may be the focal point, with white walls and just a touch of modern accent decor throughout. Scorpios, the angsty black cats of the zodiac, will have an affinity for counter-culture and possibly even a desire to keep these conventionally unlucky items in their home.

Sagittarius (November 22–December 21)

The vibrant and individualistic personality of the Sagittarius makes for a home filled with nomadic elements reminiscent of the Bohemian style. Everything from Turkish rugs to world maps, turquoise trinkets, and fun-loving signs make for an electric space. Stepping into a home of this sign will evoke a sense of freedom seen through pops of color and pieces that invite you to touch them and ask questions. Sagitarrians, the globetrotting explorers and God’s favorites, might not end up actually spending too much time in their homes. Easy-breezy, life-changing minimalism might be the move for them.

Capricorn (December 22–January 19)

Ruled by practicality, the Capricorn has a no-nonsense approach to home decor, making traditional style the best choice. Hunter green, white, navy and gray are traditional tones that make for timeless pieces, and they blend well with the rich wood grains that define your spaces. Rather than following trends, you’d rather invest in a few ageless items, with particular interest for antiques, Mid-Century modern, Shaker and Balinese wood. Just steer clear of the decor trends that Queer Eye‘s Bobby Berk is over.

Aquarius (January 20–February 18)

As an Aquarius, you’re all about breaking the rules. Eccentricity rules your decor, with design geared toward what makes you feel good instead of what is considered “right.” Your cutting-edge design means statement-making pieces in your home, but your watery essence ensures there are plenty of comforting, relaxed vibes, too. Calm, serene hues like blues and grays flow through your space, with whimsical patterns that might come off as busy on paper but make for a cozy space in reality. Mix practical core pieces, like a chic and modern couch, with antique and vintage accents that might not be practical but bring you joy.

Pisces (February 19–March 20)

An intuitive, free-spirited sign, Pisces veers away from the rules of decorating and embraces a more eclectic style of home decor. They prioritize serene sea colors and the soft hue of lavender, decorate with natural fibers and enjoy spaces meant for entertaining. Decor is meaningful to its core for the Pisces, and homes are decorated to achieve a Zen-like space both welcoming for guests as well as for the owner’s own peace of mind. Natural woven rugs, white linen, silk throw pillows, and an L-shaped couch make for a flowing room. Knickknacks are also of the utmost importance, but never to overwhelm! The Pisces isn’t after clutter, rather a vision of coziness. You can expect a bookshelf riddled with vintage finds and a gallery wall that brings the outside in, featuring pressed flowers in frames. Pisces love hygge! Here’s how to add the cozy Swedish style to your home.
