How to forward a text to another Apple device

If you want to view your messages on other Apple devices like your iPad or Mac, a built-in feature will allow you to forward SMS/MMS messages to multiple devices automatically. Here’s how to turn it on:

  1. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive to check that you are signed in to iMessage with the same Apple ID on all your devices.
  2. From there, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding.
  3. To choose which devices can send and receive text messages from your iPhone, flip the switch next to each device to the “on” position. You will need to enter a verification or two-factor authentication code on your iPhone to connect the two devices.
  4. Now, new text messages will be sent and received on the devices that you added, as long as your iPhone is turned on and connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.

FYI, iCloud and cloud storage for Android will also store your entire messages history from all your devices.
