While almost everything is marked down for the long weekend, some Labor Day appliance sales are better than others. “Most large appliances, except refrigerators, go on sale over Labor Day weekend, and some of the sales will continue through September,” says Bodge. “Expect to see discounts from large chains like Home Depot and Lowe’s, which are open on Labor Day, in the 25 to 40% off range.”

If you’re still not convinced, think of it this way: These appliances will likely be more energy-efficient than what you currently have, so you’ll actually end up saving a bundle in the long run by lowering your household bills. That’s in addition to getting one at a massive discount right now during these Labor Day appliance sales.
- Best Buy: You’ll definitely want to check out Best Buy’s Labor Day appliance sales, specifically its selection of secret large appliance deals—they’re already discounted to the lowest available prices anywhere online. - Home Depot: Home Depot’s Labor Day weekend sale is always epic, and this year, you can get up to 40% off select washers, dryers and combination units. We’re talking big brands like Whirlpool, Samsung, LG and more. A variety of items will also feature free delivery and setup, which is also pretty important and can cost a pretty penny if you’re not careful.
- Lowe’s: You’ll save up to 35% on washers and dryers and score free delivery during this mega retailer’s annual Labor Day weekend sale. The store is also offering even steeper bundle pricing on select items. This gives you the opportunity to save well over $1,000 on bundled high-end washers and dryers and even coordinating kitchen appliances. If you’ve been saving up for a smart system that works with Google Home and Amazon Alexa, this is the time to buy.
- Overstock: Did you know Overstock sells large appliances? It does! While its full spectrum of washers and dryers, ovens and specialty appliances is typically already discounted from the usual retail sticker prices, Labor Day weekend offers even bigger savings.
