What you thought it was: “May the Force be with you.” This line is often attributed to Obi-Wan Kenobi, but he never said it in the original Star Wars films. “May the Force be with you” made its debut in A New Hope, first when General Dodonna speaks to his Rebel troops and later when Han Solo says it to Luke before the latter flies off to take down the Death Star. Obi-Wan does say the line in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, possibly because it had already been associated with the character by the time those films were released.
