Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah River, Madison County is absolutely beautiful! The mountain views are stunning, and are even more beautiful with a setting sun behind them. It’s country at its best, with rolling hills, open fields and gorgeous flowers all over. Living here, I sometimes think I died and went to heaven. People are so nice and friendly. Everyone smiles here.

Stories About Madison

Unfortunately, Madison has it’s share of poverty. There’s a volunteer organization called Madison Emergency Services Association (MESA), mostly run by volunteers and community contributions. They do wonderful things to help the poor, including the operation of a thrift store where you can buy so much for so little, a food bank with free food for the poor, and an apartment building for those who are really in need of shelter. Help is always there for those who need to get back on their feet. It truly is a caring community that helps their neighbors.
