Bellingham, WA

You’re greeted by everyone who walks past you on the street with a smile, hello, or how are you even though you may not know this person. They’re going to say hello simply for being in their hometown.

After I grew up in Bellingham and moved away to southern California, I would walk down the street or go out for a run and as I passed by people I would greet them with a smile and hello. I learned this is not common practice everywhere. Now when I go back home to Bellingham for a visit, it’s still the same. Everyone is out and about and seemingly happy and engaging with all who pass by.
