Disneyland won't be quite the same once these classic rides close for refurbishment this summer.

Disneyland is undeniably the happiest place on Earth, due in part to all of the magical, timeless rides and attractions that draw visitors year after year. Many of the rides there are hallmarks of the theme park, so it comes as quite a surprise to hear that three classic Disneyland rides will shut down on June 5, 2023. For those visiting the park after the rides close, Disneyland is sure to feel a little bit different than usual.

This summer, Disneyland is slated to close Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Peter Pan’s Flight for refurbishments. All three of these rides are located in Fantasyland, an area that is part of the original Disneyland Park. In fact, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Peter Pan’s Flight are two of the rides that were included in the park’s opening day in 1955.

Alice in Wonderland made its debut in 1958, and all three rides have undergone improvements throughout the years. Other popular rides that can be found in Fantasyland include Dumbo the Flying Elephant and It’s a Small World.

Will any of these Disneyland rides reopen?

While the theme park has yet to announce what the refurbishments to these rides will entail, what is clear is that Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Peter Pan’s Flight are expected to reopen once renovations are complete. Visitors of the park are instructed to check back for updates regarding when the rides will be available to guests once again.

Disneyland enthusiasts need not be alarmed by the news of these rides temporarily shutting down. Over the years, Disneyland has frequently closed rides for short stretches of time to make improvements and updates. It sounds likely that these classic rides will reopen again soon. From time to time, even discontinued Disneyland rides have been known to pop up!
