The founders of Allamuchy created a historic timeline that provides us with the opportunity to enjoy the bucolic farms and historic sites of this part of New Jersey. One such is Rutherfurd Hall ( estate of Lucy Mercer Rutherfurd and family), which incorporates one of the elementary schools, where children learn first-hand about caring for wildlife they see daily on the grounds. Various educational and entertaining programs are also offered to the public, including a summer camp for children. Friends and Neighbors, an organization here with nearly 100 women members, supports many community charities and has established a scholarship program for women over 25 years of age. We have helped five women this year alone with scholarships to finish or improve their educational background. Our Senior club informs on important issues and offers trips.
