Bellevue, IA

"Is this heaven? No, it's Bellevue!"

Bellevue is a cozy, friendly town on the Mississippi river. The people are quite friendly and caring. If something happens to someone in town, they are always there to help. It is especially beautiful in the fall. Driving down Highway 52 from Dubuque, Iowa, to Bellevue is a very scenic and beautiful drive. I have been told many times how lucky we are to experience that drive a lot.

Stories About Bellevue

One thing that comes to mind was a benefit this last weekend. It was for a gentleman who was diagnosed with ALS recently, who works in Bellevue, was a fireman for 27 years, a Hunter Safety instructor for 36 years, on the ambulance service for 22 years, and 9 years to Camp Courageous. Also countless hours to local charities and events including conservation charities Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited, and the charity bike ride RAGBRAI, among many. He did so much for our community! There was a huge crowd, the auctions were a great success, the meal was great and a lot of people were there for the entire day. They were giving from the heart, not from their wallets. It was so heartwarming to see all the people paying it forward. This is only one of many events going on in our town.
