Golden Hills Addition in Wichita, KS

We are a neighborhood of working-class folks, with neighbors belonging to just about every ethnic group. Folks look out for each others’ stuff when you’re gone, and we know the neighbors’ children and pets by name. Many of us are those taking the place of absent grandparents for the children of a younger neighborhood. We respond to medical and emergency needs of our neighbors, or non-emergency needs.

My neighbor, Joe, mowed my yard for twelve weeks during one year when I had two serious medical surgeries. He insisted that I could not be allowed to do any physical work for that period of time. I was presented with an opportunity to “pass it on” to my neighbor on the other side of my home when he underwent cancer treatments.
