Every Veterans Day Sale You Won’t Want to Miss This Year

Updated: Mar. 13, 2023

There may be fewer Veterans Day sales this year because of supply-chain issues, but there are still plenty of amazing deals that can save you a bundle!

Our editors and experts handpick every product we feature. We may earn a commission from your purchases.

Veterans Day is a day to honor the men and women who have selflessly served our country, and it’s not the same as Memorial Day, since we can thank these heroes in person for their service. Some restaurants show their appreciation with free meals for veterans, while some stores offer steep discounts on everything from clothes and accessories to mattresses and furniture. While certain Veterans Day sales only apply to veterans and current service members, civilians can enjoy many of them, too—and trust us when we say you won’t want to miss them. Since this holiday falls right before Black Friday, retailers often layer Black Friday pre-sales on top of Veterans Day sales.

“Veterans Day falls about 10 days before the biggest shopping day of the year: Black Friday. Some early Black Friday sales start on Veterans Day, and retailers focus more on big products for the home,” says Michelle Madhok, an online shopping expert and founder of the deals site SheFinds.com. But while you might see this opportunity to save money on big-ticket items, Madhok advises you to start thinking about holiday gifts, too. “The key issue isn’t going to be what to find on sale, but rather if it can be found and how quickly you can get it to your gift recipient,” she says. “Due to supply-chain issues, there’s a concern that a lot of gifts aren’t going to make it to the stores in time for the holidays.”

Samantha Gordon, deals editor for Consumer Reports agrees. “This is the year to shop early,” she says. “With product shortages in many popular categories like electronics and toys, combined with shipping delays, if you wait too long, you really run the risk of not getting everything you want in time for the holidays.”

In short, get as much of your holiday shopping done as soon as you can! Because of the high demand this year, you may not find as many deals you’ve grown accustomed to, but there are still plenty of them to be found…if you know where to look. Plus, if you can simply get your hands on the items you’re searching for, that will definitely be a win. Before you start shopping, take a look at these poignant Veterans Day quotes to remind you why it’s such an important day.
