On April 23, 2018, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to the third Cambridge baby at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London. On April 27, Prince William and Kate announced they would name their child Louis Arthur Charles. The fifth in line to the throne, he broke this royal record the day he was born.
His first royal walkabout

The Prince’s birth was registered on May 1, 2018
All births in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland must be registered within 42 days of the child being born, and that’s true for members of the royal family as well. According to the official website of the royal family, Pince Louis’s birth was registered at Kensington Palace on May 1, 2018, and was witnessed by a Registrar from the Westminster Register Office.
Arriving for Louis’s christening
“On July 9, 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge followed generations of the royal family by having their youngest child, Prince Louis, baptized in the historic surroundings of the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace,” according to the royal family’s official website. Here we see the Cambridges arriving—Louis in his mum’s arms, and Prince Wiliam leading his two older children Princess Charlotte and Prince George. Behind them, you can see a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,
Family of five
The baptism was attended by the royal family, including the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and the Duchess of Cambridge’s parents and siblings, as well as Prince Louis’s godparents. The Royal Christening Robe worn by Prince Louis for his baptism is very special, indeed; here’s the story behind the historic gown.
